SENGA HILL DISTRICT DEVOLUTION TASK FORCE UNDERGOES CAPACITY BUILDING ON DECENTRALISATION.

4 July 2026

The Senga Hill District Devolution Task Force (DDTF) participated in a capacity-building training on the implementation of decentralisation and monitoring of devolved functions under the Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP).
The training was facilitated by Provincial Local Government Officer Mr Alfred Nyambose, who was accompanied by Local Government Auditor Mr Hachiti Chimuka. The session focused on strengthening the functionality of District Devolution Task Forces and enhancing the effective implementation of devolved government functions at district level.
In his welcoming remarks, Council Secretary Mr Anthony Kalunga expressed gratitude to the Provincial Local Government Officer for conducting the training under the Zambia Devolution Support Programme. He reaffirmed that Senga Hill Town Council remains committed to championing the successful implementation of ZDSP, noting that the programme continues to improve service delivery and accelerate development across the district.
Following the training, the delegation conducted monitoring visits to selected Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects to appreciate the progress being made through decentralisation. The projects visited included the Chilinde Water Reticulation System, which is improving access to clean and safe drinking water for local communities, and the Chilinde–Kalukanya Feeder Road, a vital infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity, facilitating the movement of people and agricultural produce, and stimulating economic growth.
