COUNCIL SECRETARY CONDUCTS FAMILIARISATION INSPECTION AT CHANDAEMBA CIVIC CENTRE

14 January 2026,
Council Secretary, Mr. Anthony Kalunga, conducted a familiarisation inspection at Chandaemba Civic Centre, which has recently been installed with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) backup battery solar power system to ensure full operational readiness.
The solar power system comprises ten (10) 550-watt monocrystalline solar panels, connected in series to form a 5.5kW system, capable of generating up to 500V DC at full capacity. The installation is designed to provide reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the civic centre.
During the inspection, Mr. Kalunga expressed appreciation for the
Chandaemba Civic Centre, noting that the facility will bring all Senga Hill Town Council staff under one roof, making it easier to serve the public efficiently. He said the Civic Centre will provide a more organised and comfortable working environment, which will ultimately benefit residents accessing council services.
The installation of the solar power system is expected to ensure a consistent power supply for smooth daily operations. The system will also ease the Civic Centre’s dependence on the national power grid once it is connected, improve productivity, reduce disruptions caused by power outages, and support effective service delivery across the council.
