26th November 2025
Yesterday, Senga Hill District proudly hosted the Provincial Launch of the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence at Mambwe Mission. The event was honoured by the presence of the Northern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ms. Undi Phiri.
The launch brought together provincial leadership, district authorities, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organisations, cooperating partners, the media and community members—standing together in solidarity against GBV, especially in the digital space.
In her address, Ms. Phiri emphasized the urgent need to curb digital forms of violence such as cyberbullying, online harassment and digital exploitation. The Council Chairperson, Hon. Kings Sikainga, reaffirmed the district’s commitment to protecting women and girls both offline and online, and strengthening community-based response systems.
We extend our deepest appreciation to all stakeholders, and the people of Senga Hill for making yesterday’s event a great success.
As a district, we continue to champion a safe and inclusive community for all women and girls—during these 16 days and beyond.
Together, we UNiTE.
Together, we end GBV.
Together, we end digital violence.
