Government has officially commissioned 16 development projects in Senga Hill District worth K31.3 million, funded under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the Council’s New Truck Yard in Senga Hills yesterday, Northern Province Minister Leonard Mbao hailed the Constitueny Developmemt Fund as a key driver for equitable and transformative development.
The commissioned projects include earthmoving equipment valued at K17.3 million for road works, classroom blocks at Kalukanya and Chiswela Primary Schools, 7,100 desks, teachers’ houses, an ablution block at Senga Hill District Hospital, an X-ray lab at Mambwe Mission Hospital, and boreholes at five schools and health facilities.
The Minister emphasized that the projects go beyond infrastructure, aiming to improve lives and uplift communities.
And Senga Hill District Commissioner ELIZABETH GOMA credited the successful implementation to sound management of CDF resources by local stakeholders.
Meanwhile Senga Hills Constituency Member of Parliament HENRY SIKAZWE pledged continued advocacy for more inclusive projects.
He said the commissioning of these projects is not the end, but the beginning of new ideas, partnerships, and a sustained commitment to community development.
Mr. Sikazwe has since urged residents to take ownership of the projects, especially the newly acquired earthmoving equipment, ensuring they are preserved for long-term use.
